For many overweight people, just making the commitment to get back in shape is a huge step in the right direction. Embracing a nutritious diet and a healthy exercise plan is half the battle, and the other half is following through and executing the plan. It’s not difficult to eat healthy foods if you put your mind to it, but there’s no getting around the fact that exercise takes hard work and dedication.

If you’re not accustomed to a rigorous workout routine, don’t start with running on a treadmill or making circuits around a running track. These techniques will wear you out quickly and they’re tough on the legs and back. There’s no harm in mixing a little fun into your routine, thereby making it feel less like work and more like an enjoyable hobby. A digital jump rope can give you a tangible idea of your progress as you skip your way to physical fitness.

Switch It Organizer

I’m a business woman who likes to have my shoes and handbag match and co-ordinate with my outfit. Its probably a generational thing -remember the days when your turquoise velvet hat and gloves HAD TO MATCH your shoes and purse? No? Well anyway…. Changing purses frequently (or even briefcases) can be a drag but this handy switch it organizer makes life less complicated. You simply lift it out of one bag and transfer it to another. And, although the trim is colorful the organizer is clear so its convenient to take to the airport (no more zip lock baggies).

They come in three different sizes and a multitude of colors and prints. What a unique and innovative solution. Wish I’d found it long ago!

You Can Teach a Goldfish New Tricks

David Letterman has been in the news for all the wrong reasons of late. With his adultery and extortion scandals still fresh in the minds of many Americans, it’s best to look back at the golden age of the Late Show, when trips to Drew Barrymore’s flashing antics were about as controversial as things got. My personal favorite segment has always been Stupid Pet Tricks, which partially explains my fascination with gimmicky pet gadgets.

I found a product online just the other day that’s meant to turn regular everyday goldfish into swimming party tricks. The set includes a soccer net, a tiny ball and even a limbo bar. Like most animals – including marine life – goldfish are food-driven. They have famously short memories and nonexistent attention spans, but it’s possible to get them to do almost anything for the promise of some fish food.
